Default Does A-Net....

Yes i know, interesting thread title but oh well.

I was wondering if A-Net does anything about people that scam others in game.
Say if the person had screenshots of how the trade were agreed on, but was scammed within the first part of it.

Yes, it happend to me. The person claimed to be a well trusted member of GWGuru, but i guess they werent.

All in all, i have screenshots of how the deal was suposed to go, and a screenshot of after the first trade, where the person then has me ignored.

Any feedback would be apreciated.

Yes, if you can send screenshots and detail the events of the transactions, send a report to support.guildwars.com and they should take action on the offender.

Note, however, that they will not tell you what they did, as doing so is against their privacy policy.

I still think the same as always. You can't get scammed unless you're being stupid, and being stupid shouldn't be looked at by ANet. Stop being stupid, then you won't get scammed. I've played this game from the day it released, and I've never been scammed.

I agree with your statement Maxiemonster. But the person claimed to be Legit and says they sold stuff on thsi site all the time. So yes i trusted them, and they basicaly crapped me out of the deal.

It is in a way my fault for actualy going through with the trasaction the way it did, but im glad A-Net does something about it.

It has nothing to do with being stupid or smart. A good scammer can get money from anyone. Saying it's your own fault is stupid.

I had my car stolen.

Did you bolt the car to the ground and give it a marine escort?

No.

Pffft, idiot.

I'd have checked it out if i was you on here, maybe ask for his member name and do a search.

I assume you were trading over 100k and this is where you were scammed, i haven't ever traded over 100k but if i did i would only use ecto's after the 100k cash.

I would be more likely to trust someone off here, but at the end of the day anyone can sign up.

I agree with how you "put things" but you were a little loud with your harshness.

Sometimes, scammers just get the better of people, it's not being "stupid" or anything of the like; rather it's getting yourself into a situation that you should have had prior knowledge not to run into them.

Example? Sure! Say Person A wants to trade with Person B. They agree upon a price, and person B puts said price into the window, at which time, Person A quickly modifys the items being traded and hits accept so you get stuck with a lousy item and you just payed out your arse for it.

With everything, people saying "stop being stupid" doesn't solve it. I hope people who say that get scammed themselves so they can learn it's not all Person B's fault. Granted, they did click accept and put money in; but they thought they were in a legit trade with a legit person A...they weren't. It's hard to sniff people like this out before it's too late.

On the other hand, A-Net can do nothing without physical in-game proof <IE: Screenshots>

Thanks Shim. I have screenshots of the deal and everything. Sent an e-mail but it came back saying i had to register witht heir site first, so i need to re-send it.

And for those of you who enjoy flaming, please dont. All i posted for was to ask a simple question, not to hear people argue with others about it.

thanx again.
